Looking Back at Leaves

As we enter stick season in central Vermont I thought it would be nice to look back at some of the changing leaves that caught my eye earlier this month. I already shared a few fall foliage favorites in my last post, but I have carefully selected several more. These include landscape photos highlighting deciduous trees some portraits of herbaceous perennials. Enjoy!

Thurman W. Dix Reservoir, Orange, VT, 10/01/26

Blue Cohosh, Corinth, VT, 10/01/26

White Baneberry (aka Doll’s Eyes), Moretown, VT, 10/02/26

Fayston, VT, 10/02/26

Agrimony, Middlesex, VT, 10/04/26

New York Fern, Middlesex, VT, 10/04/26

Cattails and Grass, East Montpelier, VT, 10/04/26

I had a great time during this year’s fantastic peak foliage, wandering the backroads of Vermont, reveling in the beauty of wild plants and wild places, and making art with my camera. I hope a little bit of that wonder and awe comes through in these photographs.

My 2027 calendar is available. It features wildlife, wildflowers and wild places of Vermont. You can get here: https://www.geraldlisi.net/store-1/p/2027-wall-calendar. Or, contact me through this email to buy it directly with Venmo or PayPal. I’ll be back in a few weeks with some fun natural history and a big announcement. Until then, take good care.
